One defender is never enough.
Even more so in the NFL of today. But even more so when they have the skills and ability of someone like Elias Ricks, who the Denver Broncos could pair with Pat Surtain.
The former five-star athlete went to LSU for his first year of college. There, he became one of the best cornerbacks in the country and an All-American. Then, in December 2021, he used the transfer link to move to Alabama.
Now, he is a possibility for the 2023 NFL Draught, with a lot of potential but a lot of work to do. Some predictions have him going in the third round, so the Broncos might be interested.
Everyone agrees that Ricks showed why he was one of the best cornerbacks in the country in his first two years at LSU. To give you an idea of how good he is, he started out as a rookie in the SEC.
Ricks had five interceptions and six pass breakups in those two years. But as After he transferred to the Crimson Tide, he didn’t start playing until Week 8 against Mississippi State.
No one knows why. Ricks showed from that point on that he probably should have started sooner. According to the Draught Network, he was covering players step by step, blocking passes, and giving the Alabama secondary a level of energy.
