The most recent offer came from the Alabama coaching staff for Eric Karner, a tight end from the Class of 2024 who has already decided to play for Purdue. The Boilermakers have had Karner’s undivided attention since March 7.

The offspring of the Virgin Mary In February, Catholic Prep caught the attention of many top-tier universities. Karner received his first scholarship offer from a Power Five school, Michigan State.

He caught 12 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns as a junior. Karner was a key contributor to the Knights’ success as they won the Illinois Class 3A state title.

Karner’s versatility is intriguing since he can play both tight end and wide receiver. That’s gold dust for high school seniors dreaming of a meaningful college career. Alabama is known for showcasing multi-talented tight ends in their lineup.

Cameron Latu, a former tight end for Alabama, is a great illustration of this. The Tide relied on him as a tight end in both offensive and defensive roles. Karner is expected to continue in a similar capacity at the advanced level.
