Many 2024 safety prospects have predicted that Oklahoma will sign one of them. Hardy, Jaydan

The 2024 class is reaping the benefits of Oklahoma’s successful recruiting weekend. Jeremiah Newcombe, a four-star cornerback, committed to them, and they seem to be making progress in recruiting another four-star defensive back.

It seems like Sooners safety Jaydan Hardy, a 2024 four-star prospect, is leaning toward making a commitment to the team.
Hardy is ranked as the 159th-best player in the country and the 13th-best safety in the country by the 247Sports composite.

He ranks as Texas’ No. 29 best player. Both Rivals and ESPN rate Hardy as a four-star recruit for the next season. The Sooners earned three crystal ball projections from 247Sports and one from On3 after their trip to Norman.

On Saturday afternoon, Steve Wiltfong, director of national recruiting at 247Sports, made a bold prognostication. Later in the day, 247Sports’ own OUInsiders, Parker Thune and Brandon Drumm, made their own prescient forecasts.

On3’s Sam Spiegelman joined the fray with his own prediction on Sunday night. The several forecasts in such a short period, such as the recruiting of Jeremiah Newcombe and 2025 quarterback Kevin Sperry, should speak well for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Hardy is an exciting two-way player who will contribute to the success of any club he plays for. He is versatile enough in terms of athleticism to play anywhere in the secondary backfield.
Sooners secondary coach Jay Valai and defensive back Brandon Hall have kept the trend going after signing seven defensive backs in the class of 2023. The Sooners can now focus on signing 2024 defensive backs Jaydan Hardy and Aaron Flowers after receiving a pledge from Newcombe.
