2023 NFL Mock Draft #1A

1. Chicago With the first pick, in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select..... Wow! I didn't see that coming.

The Texans' loss is the Bears' gain and Ryan Poles gets a shot at selecting the best college prospect on the 27th of April.

Finishing with the worst record in the league shouldn't be celebrated,

but Chicago aren't the worst team in the league. Securing the first pick, for the first time since 1947, is just another positive step in the rebuild of this franchise.

2. Houston The Houston Texans have fired Head Coach Lovie Smith. Their second one-and-done coach in as many years...

To make matters even funnier, Lovie Smith wouldn't even go away quietly as this embattled Texans ,

squad beat the division rival Indianapolis Colts 32-31 in their final game of the season.

3. Arizona (Trade) The tear-down has begun. 10 months ago, quarterback Kyler Murray,

head coach Kliff Kingsbury and General Manager Steve Keim were all given hefty extensions as a statement of confidence for the future.

4. Indianapolis The task is simple: Find a franchise quarterback. Easy, right?

General Manager Chris Ballard might disagree as he'll be with searching for a new quarterback to lead his team for the third-straight season.

5. Seattle (Trade) Before this season began, Seattle did the unthinkable and traded their franchise QB on a Hall of Fame trajectory.

6. Detroit (Trade) What a moment this offseason is for the Detroit Lions. While fate wasn't kind to them in terms of missing this year's playoffs,

everything about the team's future has blossomed like a rose.

7. Las Vegas The 9-year Derek Carr Era is not officially over, but the fat lady is approaching the microphone.
