The 2023 NFL draft is set to take place in Kansas City, Missouri from April 27-29 and will give football fans a taste of the game without any players actually taking the field.
Unlike most drafts, the first few selections are up in the air. Will the Chicago Bears hold onto the No. 1 overall pick, or will it be traded?
College Sports Wire’s Patrick Conn recently published his latest two-round mock draft, which places a few former Crimson Tide stars with some interesting teams.
In total, seven former Alabama football players were selected in Conn’s first two rounds. Here’s who they are and where they are projected to land.
Round 1, Pick 3: Will Anderson Jr. (EDGE) The Team: Arizona Cardinals Conn’s take: “The Cards have a new head coach after hiring former Philadelphia defensive coordinator Johnathan Gannon.
What better way to address his new defense than snagging one of the premier pass rushers in college football?”
Round 1, Pick 4: Bryce Young (QB) The team: Indianapolis Colts Conn’s take: “The Colts will have a new head coach as well with former Eagles offensive coordinator Shan Steichen.
Much like his former colleague, the new head coach could address his biggest hole with a former Alabama star, Bryce Young.”
Round 1, Pick 10: Brian Branch (DB) The team: Philadelphia Eagles Conn’s take: “The Eagles will need to address cornerback and likely safety in this draft.
Branch is a player that can fill either role or both. He can be a plug-and-play weapon in multiple spots on the back half of the defense.”
