ACM Honors welcomes stars to Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium

Preparation for the 16th annual Academy of Country Music Honors is underway Wednesday at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium.

The award show, hosted by four-time ACM Award winner Carly Pearce, celebrates previously announced special honorees,

studio recording artist winners and industry award winners at the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville on Aug. 23. The show will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Special award honorees include country celebrities HARDY, Chris Stapleton and Kane Brown.

CEO of Academy of Country Music Damon Whiteside says he is excited for the show because the ACM Honors is known as the country music industry's favorite night of the year.

"It's really an amazing heartfelt show and it really just shows the heart of country music and of the artists and the honorees," Whiteside said.

Country music fans have started to line up outside the Ryman Auditorium, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.

Rehearsals took place inside the Ryman Auditorium Wednesday as stars practiced their performances for the 16th annual awards show.

Performers include Keith Urban, Lady A and Jordan Davis. The awards will air on FOX on Monday, Sept. 18 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT.
