Former Heisman Trophy QB says Tua Tagovailoa is the future of the Dolphins

Despite playing in only 13 games, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had the most passing yards and touchdowns of his career in 2022.

He has continued to trend upwards, especially after leading the NFL in passer rating at 105.5, but his season was derailed due to multiple concussions.

This past week, USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams said he would want to be drafted by the Dolphins which only created more rumors about Tagovailoa’s future in Miami.

Throughout the entirety of his NFL career, the former Alabama Crimson Tide star has faced adversity and criticism and always rose above but now,

he has a former Heisman Trophy winner in Robert Griffin III defending him as the future of Miami.

RG3 says the Dolphins should absolutely exercise Tagovailoa’s fifth-year option,

especially when you consider the fact he will be getting paid only $23 million dollars.

While the injury concerns remain very valid, there is no question that when Tua has been on the field he has been incredibly effective for the Dolphins.

Especially with the additions of Waddle and Hill and a revamped offensive line.

With a fifth year option, Miami would have two more years of Tua on a rookie deal to decide what the best move for the future is.
