The Las Vegas Raiders decided to decline running-back Josh Jacobs's fifth-year option on his rookie deal, and he made them pay.
Jacobs ran like a man who had something to prove the entire 2022 season,
and led the NFL in rushing with 1,653 yards and tacked on 12 rushing touchdowns.
At the NFL Honors last night, Jacobs was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Year which goes to the running back that had the best season.
After his massive year, Jacobs is set to hit the free agency market this summer totally unrestricted.
The Raiders may place the franchise tag on Jacobs,
but that’s only if they are willing to pay him over $10 million next year.
If the Raiders decide to let him test free agency,
Jacobs has been heavily connected to the Miami Dolphins to team up with former Alabama Crimson Tide teammates Tua Tagovailoa and Jaylen Waddle.
Regardless of where Jacobs ends up, he is in line to receive a massive payday this summer.
