Nephew of former Ohio State star puts Ohio State in trimmed list

Ohio State football is getting some love this Valentine’s Day from a top-100 prospect.

Booker Pickett named his top nine schools and included the Buckeyes in the trimmed list.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Booker’s uncle, Ryan Pickett, starred in Columbus in the late 90s thru 2000.

Ryan was a load on the Buckeye defensive line which would earn him a first-round NFL draft selection with the St. Louis Rams.

He played 14 seasons in the league with the Rams, Packers, and Texans, winning a Super Bowl with Green Bay in 2011.

Booker says he feels like “The Buckeyes are building something special…

I know I’ll get developed there.” Pickett is the No. 6 edge rusher in the 2024 class according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Others on Pickett’s shortlist are Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami (FL), Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and USC.
