- There are a few glaring needs the Browns have this offseason in terms of position groups
, but when it comes to pure production, one group rose above the rest.
The Browns’ defensive tackles struggled in 2022, and it’s clear Cleveland needs help along the line.
Taven Bryan ended the year as Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded Browns interior defensive lineman with a 60.0,
ranking 72nd among all qualifying interior linemen in the league.
After him? You have to jump all the way down to the 120s to find the next Browns interior player
: Perrion Winfrey at 128 with a 41.6 grade. He’s followed by Jordan Elliott (131st, 40.4) and Tommy Togiai (132nd, 37.3).
PFF has also named interior defensive line as Cleveland’s No. 1 position of need, and their assessment was pretty bleak:
“The ineffectiveness of the Browns’ interior defensive line was remarkable this season,” PFF wrote.
“Three of the four players who played at least 200 snaps earned an overall grade of 41.6 or worse.
Taven Bryan’s 23 pressures from 359 pass-rushing snaps led the group.
“Myles Garrett is one of the best defensive linemen in the game,
but it barely matters because the rest of the defensive line offers nothing in support.”
