Position Breakdown: Alabama's RB's ahead of spring practice

We are now just a few weeks out from Nick Saban and the Alabama football team taking the practice field to begin spring ball.

As is the case each offseason,

there are many questions that need to be answered before the Tide hit the field to start the 2023 season.

As spring practice creeps closer, we are going to break down each position group on both sides of the ball.

We have already looked at the quarterbacks and the defensive line ,

and today we will turn our attention back to the offensive side of the ball and look at the running backs.

Although some explosion is gone from the room, the running backs should offer plenty of talent in 2023.

1. Notable departures Jahmyr Gibbs It will not be easy to replace what Jahmyr Gibbs brought to the Alabama offense in 2021.

The dynamic playmaker accounted for more than 1,300 all scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns last season for the Tide.

Notable returning players Jase McClellan | Roydell Williams | Jam Miller Alabama is returning quite the trio in McClellan, Williams, and Miller in 2022 and all three bring something a little different to the table.

McClellan is more in the mold of a Gibbs while Williams will make his impact in pass protection and situational downs.

Miller on the other hand is maybe the most physically gifted of the group. Miller is built solid and low to the ground and will remind a lot of folks of the early Saban backs.

2. New faces Justice Haynes Joining Alabama this spring is five-star sensation Justice Haynes from the state of Georgia.

3. What to watch for Jamarion “Jam” Miller is the guy to watch this spring.

Miller showed flashes in his limited role as a freshman and might be the most naturally gifted runner out of all the returning backs.
